Called this place when me and my family broke down in between Blackfoot and Pocatello while traveling from out of town. We needed an alternator replaced, I called around to every shop in Pocatello/blackfoot and some in Idaho falls because it was the weekend and we were desperate to get it done that day. Got quotes from many shops with prices ranging from $700-800 for the part & repair, When I called these people they wanted $1500+ basically double because they knew we were desperate. They wanted $1200 for the alternator alone. NOWHERE sells my alternator anywhere near that price. Worse of all I had to push them to get a quote over the phone, They wanted me to tow my car in and give me a price when I arrive. Now I know why, So we could be stuck with no choice. These are the type of people that take advantage of your bad situation and try to profit off of it. I wish i remembered the guys name I talked to so I could drop it here, But do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. Shady people = Shady business practices. Ended up getting it done in Idaho falls for half the price.

So this place came highly recommended by my uncle so I decided to try them out. They got my car in fast and got it diagnosed and inspected fast. They kept me informed and they were friendly and answered all my questions quickly. They took care of everything quickly I was there for a diagnostic and oil change and I was there less than an hour.

Don’t trust this shop. As a woman it’s already challenging to find honest mechanics and this experience only made that harder. I called ahead and was told it would be free to check my radiator fan before a long drive coming up. After dropping off my car, they suddenly switched it to $165 just to “diagnose” it. That alone is misleading. Then it got worse. They pushed a block test and came back claiming I needed a full engine replacement because it “failed.” When I asked for an actual explanation, they couldn’t give one—just repeated that it failed. No details, no proof, just a huge engine replacement quote. I took my car somewhere else for a second opinion… it was fixed for $35. That’s not a small mistake—that’s either serious incompetence or an attempt to upsell a completely unnecessary engine replacement. Either way, I wouldn’t trust them with my car. Get a second opinion before agreeing to anything they say.

Kind courteous. Got me in extremely quick, fix the car. 2 hours ahead of schedule. Prices were great. They even take the costco repair discount here. Thank you to the guys at family, auto care. You're the best!

Had a great experience here. My wife saw their ad for wheel alignment on Facebook and sent it to me since my car needed an alignment. Booked online and was in the next day. They performed an alignment test, then told me my car didn't need the alignment adjusted, and gave me the report. They suggested I go to a tire shop and have the wheels balanced. Then they didn't charge me anything. They were courteous and communicated with me the whole time. We already have an appointment to bring another vehicle to them, we were so impressed with how they treated us.
